Verse 1

Let me follow the path that my Savior has trod, Let me cling to the touch of His hands; His pathway will lead to the kingdom of God, If I follow the dear Lord’s commands. The road may be rough and the hills may be steep, My Lord tread the path there for me; The way will be marked by the prints of His feet, And the path will be easy to see.

Verse 2

Let me follow the way that Jehovah has planned, Let me do as the scriptures record; Let me trust ev‘ry promise, obey each command, That Jehovah revealed by our Lord. Some ways may be broad and the gates may be wide, My heart may be free from all cares; The way seems to please as we travel with ease But the prints of His feet are not there.

Verse 3

The time isn’t long if perchance we are wrong, For we travel but once on this way; The danger is great if we miss the strait gate And the price will be bitter to pay. If we love the Lord, we must follow His Word, If we wish for heaven, our goal; The way Jesus led is the path that He tread  And it leads to the home of the soul.
